Job Description

This position reports to the Production Control Manager and plays a vital role in facilitating communication between Japanese-speaking leaders and English-speaking team members. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both verbal and written Japanese and English, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances to serve as an effective communication advisor.

• Perform simultaneous and/or consecutive interpretation during meetings to ensure smooth communication
• Translate technical manufacturing documents and production-related materials
• Assist with administrative tasks within the Production Control department as directed
• Advise Japanese coordinators and American managers on cultural and business practice differences
• Improve interpretation environments through effective communication strategies
• Support other interpreters and understand production processes for optimal translation quality
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management

Skills & Qualifications

• Must Have: Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of interpretation experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Excellent Japanese and English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong understanding of American and Japanese cultural differences
• Effective communicator with strong presentation abilities
• Proven collaboration and social skills to work well with colleagues
• Quick learner with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation & Benefits 💰

• Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
