Position Overview 💼

The Account Representative is responsible for handling banking needs for our international mass market clientele, including Non-Resident Aliens (NRA). Your expertise will help identify and resolve banking requirements, promote deposit and loan growth, and facilitate cross-functional wealth management referrals. A key goal is to migrate clients to High-Value Client (HVC) accounts exceeding $250,000.

Essential skills include active listening, effective communication, and problem-solving.

Primary Accountabilities 🚀

  • Operational Tasks: Facilitate account openings, process various deposit and loan products, handle secured and unsecured loans, personal lines of credit, CD renewals, cashier's checks, wire transfers, and loan applications. These duties may involve direct customer interaction to support sales efforts.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Manage incoming emails and calls per call center standards, providing professional service and follow-up. Offer specialized translation services for Japanese customers when necessary. Support administrative tasks within the group.
  • Portfolio Management: Grow and manage the Mass Market portfolio by seeking profitable opportunities, nurturing existing clients, and converting clients into HVC accounts ($250K+).
  • Compliance & Efficiency: Ensure daily operations adhere to regulations and policies. Address client issues independently and liaise with third-party vendors on clients' behalf.
  • Community & Process Improvement: Build community relationships to generate new business opportunities, and identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications 🎓

Education 📚

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience 📅

  • At least 2 years of related banking or financial services experience.

Functional Skills 🔑

  • Proficiency in Japanese language—including reading, writing, and verbal communication—is required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements 🏢

  • Ability to perform light physical work, including lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficiency in operating standard office equipment (phone, copier, PC, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand bank documents.
  • Capability to work comfortably in an office setting for prolonged periods, with adaptability to different environments as needed.
