🎯 Job Summary
Join a comprehensive 10-week program where you'll gain hands-on marketing experience working alongside a top-tier team. You'll support initiatives that boost fan engagement, ticket sales, memberships, and brand awareness throughout the season. The internship offers opportunities to participate in both game and non-game day activities, providing a full view of seasonal marketing operations.
Additionally, you'll have chances to connect with organization leaders through coffee chats and networking events, broadening your understanding of the sports industry.
🚀 Your Responsibilities

- Shadow & Train: Gain experience in owned and paid media tasks within the marketing department.
- Learn Campaigns: Understand how omnichannel marketing campaigns support business objectives.
- Participate in Teams: Attend marketing meetings and collaborate with social media, fan engagement, video production, graphic design, and in-game entertainment teams.
- Create Content: Assist with promotional talking points, radio scripts, emails, and digital ads.
- Support Media & Promotions: Help with media partnerships, prize pack fulfillment, and giveaway marketing execution.
- Build Reports & Analyze: Develop campaign recap reports and evaluate email and digital ad performance with suggestions for improvement.
- Contribute to Projects: Support organizational, research, brainstorming, and dedicated projects, culminating in a presentation to leadership.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with various weekly or ad-hoc projects as assigned.
🧠 Key Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail in reviewing creative assets and marketing copy
- Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Effective teamwork and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor, discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Reliability with consistent attendance
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
🎓 Eligibility & Availability Requirements
- Current college/university student who has completed sophomore or junior year by June 2026, or a current graduate student
- At least 18 years old by the internship start date
- Availability from mid-June to mid-August 2026
- Ability to work during Padres home games and special events, including weekends and evenings
- Must be able to access various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including a background check
💵 Pay & Additional Benefits
The hourly rate for this internship is $21.06, in accordance with the California pay transparency law. Rates may increase based on the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance for part-time, non-union staff.
