📝 Position Overview
We are recruiting for the role of Intelligence Research Specialist (IRS) Level 2. As a civilian member of this elite agency, you'll contribute to innovative counterterrorism efforts, supporting NYC’s safety and security in a dynamic environment.
📍 Work Location & Hours
- Location: 1 Police Plaza, New York, NY 10038
- Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen with impeccable moral judgment, ethics, integrity, and trustworthiness (security clearance is a plus but not required).
- Ability to handle complex investigative and strategic matters with attention to detail.
- Experience with analytic systems, research tools, social media platforms, and databases.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of organizing and interpreting complex information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professional maturity, adaptability, humility, curiosity, and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Passion for mission-driven work.
Note: Prior or active federal security clearance not required but attainable for interested candidates.
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
Assignment Level I
- Baccalaureate degree plus 24 semester credits in relevant fields + 1 year of related experience,
OR - Master's degree in a related field + 1 year of relevant experience.
Assignment Level II
- Baccalaureate degree plus 24 semester credits + 3 years of relevant experience,
OR - Master's degree in a related field + 1 year of relevant experience.
Assignment Level III
- Baccalaureate degree plus 24 semester credits + 4 years of relevant experience,
OR - Master's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
🌟 Preferred Skills
- Master's in counterterrorism, intelligence, or national security fields.
- Language proficiency in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, German, Hebrew, Italian, Russian, or Mandarin Chinese.
- Experience in report writing, verbal presentations, geospatial mapping, financial analysis, forensic accounting, or cybersecurity.
🌐 Residency & Additional Info
NYC residency is not required. The salary range for this position is $87,572.00 – $135,110.00.
