Position Overview

We are seeking qualified Intelligence Research Specialist (IRS) Level 1 candidates to support our analytical operations in tackling today’s evolving threats. As a civilian member of this elite bureau, you'll contribute to groundbreaking counterterrorism efforts recognized worldwide. 🌍🤝

Work Details

• Location: 1 Police Plaza, New York, NY 10038 🗽
• Hours/Shifts: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM ⏰

Required Skills and Qualifications

• ✔️ Must be a U.S. citizen with impeccable morals, ethics, integrity, and trustworthiness — in accordance with federal grant and security standards.
• ✔️ Ability to analyze complex investigative and strategic matters, employing specialized skills to detect, deter, disrupt, and defend against terrorist activities.
• ✔️ Experience with analytic systems, research tools, social media platforms, and databases.
• ✔️ Skilled in organizing and analyzing intricate information to identify patterns and insights.
• ✔️ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• ✔️ Demonstrates professionalism, maturity, adaptability, humility, and intellectual curiosity.
• ✔️ Passionate about mission-driven, purpose-focused work.

Note: Prior federal security clearance is not required but can be obtained subsequently.

Minimum Qualifications

Assignment Level I

• ✔️ Bachelor’s degree plus 24 credits in relevant fields (e.g., international relations, cybersecurity, law, etc.) and 1 year of professional experience.
• ✔️ Or Master’s degree in these fields plus 1 year of professional experience.

Assignment Level II

• ✔️ Bachelor’s degree plus 24 credits in relevant fields and 3 years of professional experience.
• ✔️ Or Master’s degree plus 1 year of professional experience.

Assignment Level III

• ✔️ Bachelor’s degree plus 24 credits in relevant fields and 4 years of professional experience.
• ✔️ Or Master’s degree plus 2 years of professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• 🌍 Fluency or proficiency in languages such as Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, German, Hebrew, Italian, Russian, or Mandarin Chinese.
• 📝 Experience with report writing and verbal presentations on tight deadlines in demanding environments.
• 💻 Skills in graphic design, geospatial mapping, financial analysis, forensic accounting, or cybersecurity.

Residency & Employment Details

Residency within NYC is not required. The annual salary range for this position is $68,809.00 – $114,843.00.
