We are looking for a Bilingual Intake Specialist (Spanish) — remote position, preferably candidates from the Eastern Time Zone. The ideal candidate provides excellent customer service, interacts directly with patients and their families, assesses their needs, medical history, and special requirements.

This role primarily supports the Southeast region. All eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of Southeast payers and office administrative experience.

  • Promote the values of Hanger
  • Handle incoming calls from patients and schedule various appointment types across multiple locations
  • Communicate professionally with patients
  • Accurately document and confirm requested appointments
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Determine the best location, clinician, and appointment type for each patient
  • Manage incoming faxes from referral sources
  • Triages and routes general inquiry calls
  • Follow up with patients regarding no-shows or rescheduled appointments

Minimum Qualifications ✅

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related experience in customer service, call centers, or handling medical records/insurance

Preferred

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience in Orthotic and Prosthetic fields
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen preferred)

  • Understanding of ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT coding
  • Ability to operate office equipment (fax, calculator, postage machine)
  • Awareness of state, federal, and regional reimbursement laws
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits 💰

Hourly pay ranges from $17.75 to $22.00, plus an annual bonus of up to 5% of base pay, depending on bonus criteria. This reflects our commitment to wage transparency and varies based on skills, location, and experience.
