Join our dedicated team as an Intake Coordinator, where you'll play a vital role in managing referrals, coordinating care, and building positive relationships with clients and referral sources.
Position Summary
The Intake Coordinator facilitates the intake referral process and coordinates care with the team and referral sources. This position focuses on maintaining strong relationships with clients by responding to their requests and concerns effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the intake process
- Process all referrals and intake data
- Oversee insurance verification and authorization processes
- Receive case referrals and review client information to assess home care needs
- Complete all admissions paperwork and enter data digitally
- Verify medical insurance coverage and benefits for each patient
- Schedule appointments for consultations, tests, and procedures
- Answer inquiries via phone and email
- Address patient complaints or concerns
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and faxing
- Prepare and maintain patient charts
- Ensure compliance with facility regulations and policies
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Must be bilingual in Korean
- Availability to work out of our Brooklyn (58th Street) office
- Willingness to rotate on-call shifts with other administrative staff, including weekly and weekend duties
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Proven time management skills to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
- Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull at least 20 lbs
Education & Experience
- Minimum of one year of home care experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college or bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least two years of experience in patient intake or medical office administration is preferred
