Israeli-American Council (IAC) Is Hiring An IAC New York Regional Director

The Israeli-American Council (IAC) is seeking a dynamic Regional Director to lead its efforts in the Greater New York area, fostering community growth, engagement, and development.

Job Purpose

The Regional Director (RD) will execute the IAC's vision across the Greater New York area. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership, management, and development skills. The RD is responsible for implementing the IAC’s philosophy, strategy, and mission through community building, programming, and growth initiatives. This role reports directly to the Chief Communities Officer.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy & Development

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for regional growth aligned with the IAC mission 🎯
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including planning, implementation, and identifying resource opportunities from foundations, institutions, and individuals 💰

Leadership & Community Engagement

  • Foster the development of council members and build a strong IAC lay leadership team 🤝
  • Drive council initiatives, promote action, and provide leadership development.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans to maximize impact ⚙️
  • Build and nurture relationships with key regional stakeholders to expand the IAC’s influence 🌱

Fundraising & Financial Oversight

  • Achieve regional fundraising annual goals through cultivation and stewardship of donors 💼
  • Oversee regional budget management, monitor adherence, and develop sustainable business plans 📊

Program & Event Implementation

  • Lead the organization and promotion of programs and community events in the Greater New York area 🎉
  • Represent the IAC and the Israeli-American community in various forums and public settings 🌍
  • Support outreach and maintain partnerships with community organizations 🤝

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred 🎓
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience 📅
  • Proven leadership and organizational management skills
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to execute a vision
  • Fluency in Hebrew and English — speaking, reading, and writing 🗣️✍️
  • Deep understanding of Israeli culture 🇮🇱
  • Excellent operational, administrative, and management capabilities
  • High-level planning and monitoring skills
  • Experience leading a team of employees
  • Action-oriented with multitasking ability and meeting deadlines 🏃‍♂️
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) 📝🎤
  • Collaborative approach with donors, council members, staff, and community partners 🤝
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills 💡
  • Knowledge of Israel-related issues and passion for community building 🇮🇱❤️
  • Nonprofit management experience is a plus ⭐
