The Israeli-American Council (IAC) is seeking an experienced Regional Director for New England to lead community-building initiatives and strengthen bonds between Israeli-American, Jewish, and broader communities in the region. 🌍✨

The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that:

  • Strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of the next generation
  • Supports the American Jewish community
  • Enhances the bond between the peoples of the United States and the State of Israel

Job Purpose

The IAC New England Regional Director will lead efforts to develop a vibrant, educated, active, and resilient community with a focus on Israel. The role involves expanding existing educational programs, fostering community activities, strengthening partnerships, and cultivating leadership to grow the IAC New England Chapter.

This position reports directly to the IAC Chief Communities Officer.

Key Responsibilities 📝

  • Lead the IAC New England team: Set strategy, oversee execution, and facilitate the growth of the region, including managing volunteers and the Regional Council.
  • Build community relationships: Foster strong connections between the Israeli-American community and the Jewish community in New England. Act as a representative within the larger Jewish and regional communities.
  • Work with the Regional Council: Adapt national vision and mission to fit the New England context; develop local leadership; plan and execute strategies for community growth and fundraising—including major events.
  • Fundraising: Lead all fundraising initiatives to achieve financial goals and develop comprehensive plans, including special events.
  • Programming & Operations: Oversee office programming, events, financial management, marketing, and ongoing projects in collaboration with the national headquarters.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, support, and supervise professional staff at the regional office.
  • Financial Oversight: Create and monitor the annual budget, ensure adherence to organizational procedures, and support fundraising efforts.
  • Organizational Leadership: Play an active role in organizational development, participate in strategic initiatives, and represent the IAC at various forums.

Skills & Qualifications 🎯

  • Minimum five years of leadership and management experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Deep understanding of Israeli and American cultures.
  • Fluency in both Hebrew and English, including spoken and written skills.
  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to craft and implement vision and strategy.
  • Proven operational, administrative, and management abilities.
  • High-level planning, monitoring, and team leadership skills.
  • Action-oriented with capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • Energetic, proactive, positive leadership style.
  • Excellent public speaking, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with donors, community leaders, staff, and organizations.
  • Knowledge of Israeli-related issues and passion for community building.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
