As a vital part of the property’s Human Resources support team, you will collaborate with HR colleagues to manage daily HR activities. Your focus will be on recruitment, employee engagement, training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and policies. Your leadership will help support our associates and promote a thriving workplace culture.

🎯 Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

  • Option 1: High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in HR, management operations, or a related field.
  • Option 2: 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major; 1 year of relevant experience.

🚀 Core Work Activities

Managing Recruitment and Hiring Process

  • Assist in interviewing and hiring team members with the right skills.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment sources.
  • Participate in job fairs and document outreach efforts in line with HR procedures.
  • Network with local organizations (e.g., Hotel Association) to source candidates for current and future openings.
  • Oversee candidate identification and selection processes.
  • Provide expertise to property managers regarding candidate selection procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure effective job advertisements to attract diverse candidates.
  • Perform quality checks on candidate identification and selection.

Administering and Educating Employee Benefits

  • Coordinate with unemployment service providers to respond to claims, review reports, and correct errors.
  • Prepare and distribute unemployment claim reports to management.
  • Attend unemployment hearings, representing the property professionally.

Managing Employee Development

  • Facilitate departmental orientations and onboarding training programs.
  • Ensure employees are cross-trained for daily operations success.
  • Utilize on-the-job training tools and oversee ongoing training initiatives.
  • Coordinate new hire orientations to create a positive first impression and emphasize guest service.
  • Ensure all new hires and leadership participate actively in training programs.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure effective onboarding processes are in place.

Maintaining Employee Relations

  • Support effective communication channels within the property, including daily updates and meetings.
  • Review disciplinary documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Promote an "open door" policy to address employee concerns promptly.
  • Refer employee issues to managers or escalate to the HR Director as needed.
  • Partner with Loss Prevention to investigate employee accidents.
  • Communicate performance expectations based on job descriptions.

Managing Legal and Compliance Practices

  • Ensure employee files contain all necessary employment documentation and are securely maintained.
  • Adhere to privacy laws when accessing and reviewing employee records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records in separate, secure files.
  • Facilitate drug testing processes where applicable.
  • Communicate property policies via employee handbooks and meetings.
  • Regularly update staff on safety and security policies.
  • Conduct claims reviews and manage Workers’ Compensation claims to support employee care and control costs.
  • Represent HR in the property Safety Committee to promote workplace safety initiatives.
  • Oversee the selection and notification process for job applicants, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
