As we expand into the U.S. market, we are building a robust foundation for operations, HR infrastructure, and growth. We are seeking an experienced HR Manager who is passionate about creating HR systems from scratch and supporting a dynamic startup environment.

๐ŸŒŸ Role Overview

The HR Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing all HR functions for our U.S. entity. This includes ensuring compliance with federal and state laws (NY, NJ, CT) and fostering a positive, engaging work culture. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic leadership with daily operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Setup & Strategy: Establish and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks aligned with U.S. labor laws and global company culture
  • Payroll Management: Set up and oversee payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax and labor regulations
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent, supporting U.S. expansion and future AI initiatives
  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, fostering engagement and maintaining a positive environment
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state laws, and company policies
  • Benefits & Compensation: Manage employee benefits programs and ensure competitive, compliant salary structures
  • Cross-Cultural Communication: Use Mandarin language skills to facilitate communication with headquarters and align cultural expectations

๐Ÿ”‘ Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in HR roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or generalist capacity
  • Startup Experience: Proven support for tech startups or SMBs, including HR process setup from scratch
  • Hands-On Expertise: Payroll system setup, HR handbook development, policy implementation
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English & Mandarin (Required)
  • Legal Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. labor laws, especially NY, NJ, and CT regulations
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus)
  • Tools: Strong experience with Rippling HRIS & payroll systems, familiarity with other HR tools
