Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to lead all HR functions within our fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. As a vital member of the leadership team, you will be the primary HR business partner, fostering a high-performance culture that attracts top-tier talent in AI, venture capital, and tech spheres. This role is ideal for a proactive generalist who thrives in a small company setting, owning talent acquisition, employee experience, compliance, and more in a multicultural, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical, investment, and business roles. Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract elite AI, VC, and tech talent in Silicon Valley. Manage onboarding processes emphasizing cultural integration between U.S. and Korean teams.
- Employee Relations & Culture: Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers on performance, development, conflict resolution, and engagement. Promote an inclusive, collaborative workplace respecting U.S. and Korean business practices.
- HR Compliance & Policy: Ensure adherence to federal, California, and local employment laws (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, wage/hour, etc.). Maintain, update, and communicate employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Performance Management & Development: Design and oversee performance review cycles, talent development programs, and succession planning tailored for high-growth environments.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee competitive salary benchmarking, benefits management, and total rewards strategies. Collaborate with global HQ on international assignments and expatriate support.
- HR Operations & Analytics: Manage daily HR activities, payroll, HRIS systems (like BambooHR, ADP), and leverage people analytics to inform strategic decisions.
- DE&I & Global Collaboration: Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while supporting seamless cross-border cooperation with SK Telecom’s Korean headquarters.
- Special Projects: Drive HR-related initiatives related to organizational growth, office expansion, or strategic investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or HR certification is a plus.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including ≥2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of California employment law and U.S. federal regulations.
- Proven success in talent acquisition within technology, venture capital, or startup environments.
- Experience working with a multicultural or international workforce; Korean language proficiency is highly valued.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, ADP), and familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Certifications like PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Korean is highly desirable to support our global operations.
