About Wu Yee Children’s Services
Wu Yee Children’s Services provides comprehensive Child Development, Family, and Provider services for children aged 0-5 and low-income families across San Francisco. Our programs include child/parent education, wellness, mental health, nutrition, social services, and encompass Early Head Start and Head Start initiatives.
Position Details
- Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Location: 880 Clay St, San Francisco, CA 94108

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all Home-Based requirements comply with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Provide weekly in-home support to parents and children, integrating educational goals and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Promote healthy, secure attachments between parents and children.
- Coordinate and plan socialization activities for families per program standards.
- Manage a caseload of 10-12 families throughout the program year.
- Maintain consistent communication with families and staff to support effective program delivery.
- Build cooperative relationships with community agencies and partners.
- Keep children's files and databases updated, documenting contact and program compliance.
- Monitor progress and follow-up on program requirements.
- Assist in recruiting and enrolling new families, ensuring smooth orientation and transition.
- Support parents in setting educational goals and facilitate home activities, modeling effective parenting skills.
- Collaborate on developing individualized lesson plans with parents.
- Work with agencies to develop IFSPs and support families of children with delays.
- Address the needs of pregnant women in the program with tailored plans.
- Provide crisis intervention referrals when necessary.
- Coordinate family committee meetings and recruit parents for leadership roles.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Bilingual in English and Cantonese required.
- Proficient in English (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of early childhood education, intervention, and staff coaching experience.
- Understanding of supporting pregnant women’s healthy development.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in early childhood development, family services, or pediatric health.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and with good judgment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience facilitating group activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
Educational Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent coursework in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Or an Associate’s degree with an intention to complete certification within 18 months of hire.
- At least 12 Early Childhood Education units, including 3 infant/toddler units, or the ability to attain them within 12 months.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Capable of operating standard office equipment.
- Ability to work on a computer for up to 7 hours daily.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking.
- Use hands for operating devices and equipment.
- Close vision required for computer work.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work Conditions
Standard office environment without hazardous conditions, involving typical physical demands of office work.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $28.72 - $44.35/hr. New hires typically start between $28.72 and $36.48. Final salary depends on experience and qualifications.
