Position Overview
The HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region oversees all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration, from installation, configuration, and validation phases through to product go-live. This role requires expertise in medical informatics, IT infrastructure, medical imaging, and clinical workflows, combined with excellent communication skills to ensure industry-leading customer satisfaction.
Note: The candidate must be fluent in both written and spoken French.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with MI Project Management (PM) team to deliver high-quality Synapse product solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines.
- Execute enterprise-level custom projects including data migrations, interface integrations, and data conversions.
- Integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare systems such as EMR, PACS, RIS, HIS, and VNA.
- Follow internal communication guidelines and utilize provided tools effectively.
- Develop extensive documentation: solution design, best practices, and related materials.
- Stay current with new Synapse and third-party products, participating in SME programs.
- Engage in team meetings, cross-functional projects, and internal training activities.
- Mentor and transfer knowledge to peers, fostering team skill development.
- Work independently as the lead project technical resource, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, regulatory, and international standards, including FDA and ISO 13485.
Qualifications
- Technical expertise in designing, executing, and documenting complex technical projects within a clinical environment.
- Deep understanding of radiology, cardiology, RIS, Synchronicity, Pathology, and VNA services.
- Proficiency with HL7 (v2, FHIR), DICOM, IHE profiles, and EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.
- Experience with Canadian health data interfacing, Imaging Repositories, and data standards.
- Strong scripting skills (Lua, JavaScript, Python) and experience with interface engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working both independently and in team environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 4-5+ years HL7 integration experience in hospital settings.
- Knowledge of healthcare IT infrastructure, networking, and high-performance computing systems.
- Fluency in both English and French is strongly preferred.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to sit for 75-100% of work hours, manipulate objects, stand, and communicate effectively.
- Capability to lift up to 10 pounds (~20% of work time).
- Close vision skills required.
- Occasional travel, up to 25%, may be necessary based on business needs.
Salary and Benefits
Salary ranges from $89,646.00 to $116,700.20 depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Benefits include:
