Position Overview

Join Fujifilm Healthcare as a HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region, overseeing all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration—from installation and configuration to validation and go-live—ensuring the seamless operation of all Synapse MI products. Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities 📋

  • Collaborate closely with the MI Project Management team to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines.
  • Perform enterprise-level custom projects, including:
    • Data migrations
    • Interface integration and data conversion
    • Integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare systems (e.g., EMR, PACS, RIS, HIS, VNA)
  • Follow internal project communication guidelines diligently using designated tools.
  • Develop extensive documentation:
    • Customer-specific solution designs
    • Best practices documentation
  • Continuously learn new Synapse and third-party products, especially EMR systems relevant to Canadian healthcare imaging and hospital settings.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and contribute to internal projects and team meetings.
  • Mentor and train peers, actively sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Work independently as the lead technical resource on projects.
  • Ensure consistently high customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to company quality standards, regulatory compliance, and all applicable laws and standards, including FDA and ISO requirements.

Qualifications & Skills 🎯

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and documenting complex technical projects.
  • Expert knowledge in medical informatics, with emphasis on radiology, cardiology, RIS, Synchronicity, pathology, and VNA services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related fields; significant experience may substitute.
  • Expertise in HL7 (v2, FHIR) and DICOM standards, with 4-5 years’ HL7 integration experience in hospital environments.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.
  • Experience with Canadian Public Health Data interfacing and diagnostic image exchanges.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Lua, JavaScript, Python) and interface engines (e.g., Mirth Connect).
  • Strong understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle), networking, and healthcare workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and French.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills.

Physical & Travel Requirements 🚶‍♂️✈️

  • Ability to sit for up to 75-100% of work time.
  • Use hands and fingers (keyboard/mouse) extensively.
  • Stand, talk, and hear for 75% of work time.
  • Lift weights up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Close vision focus up to twenty inches.
  • Occasional travel (~25%) based on business needs.

Salary & Benefits 💰

Annual salary ranges from $89,646.00 to $116,700.20, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Benefits include:
