Fujifilm Healthcare Americas is seeking a highly skilled, bilingual HL7 Integration Engineer to oversee and implement HL7 integrations within the Canadian healthcare environment, ensuring seamless communication across various clinical systems.

🔍 Position Overview

The HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region is responsible for managing all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration—from initial installation and configuration to validation and go-live phases across all Synapse MI products. This role demands expert knowledge in medical informatics, IT infrastructure, medical imaging, and clinical workflows. A key component of this position is delivering industry-leading customer satisfaction through excellent communication with project teams and clients.

The ideal candidate must excel in dynamic, multi-vendor environments, stay current with healthcare IT trends, and forge strong relationships with technical support, vendors, end-users, and internal teams. Maintaining documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance are also crucial aspects of the role.

🎯 Job Description

Note: Fluency in both French and English (reading and writing) is required.

  • Collaborate closely with the MI Project Management team to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse products.
  • Lead enterprise-level projects including data migrations, interface integrations, and data conversions.
  • Integrate Synapse MI with third-party systems such as EMR, PACS, RIS, HIS, VNA, and others.
  • Follow internal communication and documentation standards, including designing solution documentation and best practices.
  • Stay updated on new Synapse and third-party products, and participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Engage in non-project activities like team presentations and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Mentor peers and facilitate knowledge transfer; work independently as the technical lead.
  • Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with regulatory standards including FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable laws.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and executing complex technical projects in healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 v2, DICOM, FHIR, IHE profiles, and EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.
  • Experience with Canadian health data exchange standards and imaging repositories.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Lua, JavaScript, Python) and interface engine platforms (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Iguana).
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle), networking, and healthcare workflows.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential.

🖥️ Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, use hands, and see clearly for long periods as needed.
  • Occasional travel up to 25% based on project requirements.

💼 Salary & Benefits

Competitive salary ranging from $89,646 to $116,700.20 depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus opportunity.
