Job Description

Note: Bilingual ability in French is required—must speak and write fluently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with MI Project Management to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines.
  • Execute enterprise-level projects including:
    • Data migrations
    • Interface integration and data conversion
    • Integration of Synapse MI with third-party healthcare systems (e.g., EMR, PACS, RIS)
  • Follow internal communication protocols, ensuring thorough documentation:
    • Customer-specific solution designs
    • Best practice guidelines
  • Continuously learn new Synapse and third-party products, particularly EMR systems in Canadian healthcare settings.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor peers, provide training, and lead knowledge transfer.
  • Work independently, managing projects to meet deadlines and budget.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction levels and ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations (including FDA, ISO 13485), and policies.
  • Engage with support teams, vendors, and end users to foster relationships and communication channels.

Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in designing, implementing, and documenting complex technical projects in healthcare IT.
  • Expert understanding of medical informatics, especially radiology, cardiology, RIS, and VNA services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ HL7 integration experience in hospital environments.
  • Proficiency with HL7 v2, FHIR, DICOM, IHE profiles, and healthcare data standards.
  • Experience with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and others.
  • Knowledge of Canadian health data interfacing requirements and Radiology Image Exchanges.
  • Skilled in scripting languages (Lua, JavaScript, Python) and interface engine tools (Mirth Connect, Iguana, Rhapsody, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills in English and French, both verbal and written.
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle), networking, and healthcare workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Ability to sit for most of the workday, with manual dexterity for using equipment and keyboards.
  • Stand, hear, and speak for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry items up to 10 pounds as needed.
  • Close visual acuity for detailed work.
  • Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required.

Salary and Benefits

🤝 Compensation ranges from $89,646 to $116,700.20 (depending on experience), with a 10% bonus opportunity.
