Position Overview
Join our team as a HL7 Integration Engineer (IE) for the Canadian region, overseeing all technical facets of Synapse product HL7 integrations from installation to go-live, ensuring seamless healthcare data interoperability and customer satisfaction. 🌐
Responsibilities & Duties
- Collaborate closely with the MI Project Management team to deliver high-quality Synapse solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines.
- Execute enterprise-level projects:
- Data migrations
- Interface integration and data conversion
- Integrate Synapse MI with third-party healthcare systems like EMR, PACS, RIS, HIS, and VNA
- Follow internal communication guidelines utilizing specified tools.
- Develop extensive documentation:
- Customer-specific solution designs
- Best practice guides
- Learn new Synapse and third-party products, especially Canadian Healthcare Imaging and Hospital systems.
- Participate in SME programs and internal activities such as team presentations.
- Mentor and train peers, ensuring knowledge transfer.
- Work independently as the lead technical resource, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with company quality standards, regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO 13485), and all applicable laws.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in designing, implementing, and documenting complex technical projects within healthcare.
- Expertise in medical informatics, IT infrastructure, radiology, cardiology, RIS, and VNA services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related fields; significant relevant experience may suffice.
- Proficiency with HL7, DICOM, FHIR, IHE profiles, and experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, Meditech, and others.
- 4-5 years’ experience with HL7 integration in hospital environments.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle), scripting languages (Lua, Python, JavaScript), and interface engine tools (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of radiology, cardiology, dictation, and electronic medical record workflows is essential.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Sit for 75-100% of work time, utilize hands for manipulation, and communicate effectively.
- Lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Close vision ability at twenty inches or less.
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) based on business needs.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary range of $89,646.00 - $116,700.20 depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Benefits include:
