Overview

We are seeking a talented Hindi Language Translator dedicated to bridging communication gaps for individuals facing language barriers. This role involves providing comprehensive translation services across multiple domains to ensure clear and accurate understanding.

Key Responsibilities 🎯

• Provide precise translation for spoken interactions such as lectures, conversations, and meetings.
• Leverage technology to transcribe spoken English when necessary.
• Translate documents from Hindi to English and vice versa, maintaining original meaning and tone.
• Edit and proofread translated materials for clarity, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness.
• Be culturally sensitive to nuances in both source and target languages during translation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills ✅

• Educational background: High School diploma, BA Degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 3 years in translation or interpretation involving Hindi language.
• Certification: Certified Translation Professional, ideally with ATA certification or other relevant credentials.
• Experience interacting with: State Department, refugee agencies, FDA, health & human services, medical, legal entities, or housing authorities.
• Language fluency: Fluent in Hindi.
• Background checks: Must pass relevant screening requirements.
• Discretion & impartiality: Capable of translating sensitively and objectively.
• Communication: Strong written skills with broad topic knowledge.
• Social awareness & empathy: Essential during interpretation to ensure respectful and accurate communication.
• Cultural knowledge: Awareness of regional differences.
• Physical stamina: Able to work extended hours at a computer.
• Problem-solving skills: Effective in resolving translation challenges.
• Technical proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe tools (Acrobat).
• Motivated & multitasking: Capable of managing multiple projects independently and within a team.
