Note: The position includes 0.8 FTE Spanish and 0.2 FTE French teaching assignments. Building administrators will contact candidates selected for interviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in Spanish and French.
- Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school-wide objectives.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and guide student progress.
- Build strong, caring relationships with students to promote both academic and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Model and embrace the Eastlake credo through daily interactions and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Spanish and French.
- A deep commitment to student-centered teaching, inclusion, and equity.
- Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A passion for language education and fostering meaningful student relationships.
Preferred
- Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19).
- Experience teaching in a proficiency-based language classroom.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will follow the teacher salary schedule, including:
- Base contract
- Additional contracts for LEAP days and responsibilities
- Technology stipend and professional fund
