Lake Washington School District Is Hiring A High School Spanish/French Teacher

Join Eastlake High School as a Spanish and French Language Educator for 2026-2027! 🌍📚

Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and dedicated educator to fill a 1.0 FTE Leave Replacement position, teaching both Spanish and French 🇪🇸🇫🇷. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire and shape the language learning experiences of our students during the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Responsibilities 📝

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in Spanish and French.
  • Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school-wide initiatives.
  • Implement formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and personalize instruction.
  • Build strong relationships with students to promote both academic success and personal growth.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, families, and staff to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Model the Eastlake credo through respectful and professional interactions daily.

Qualifications & Experience 🎓

Required ✔️

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Spanish and French.
  • Strong commitment to student-centered instruction, inclusion, and equity.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for language education and building meaningful student relationships.

Preferred ⭐

  • Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19).
  • Experience teaching in a proficiency-based language classroom.
  • Desire to contribute to a school culture where everyone feels at home.

Compensation & Benefits 💰

This position follows the teacher salary schedule, including:

  • Base contract with additional contracts for LEAP days and Responsibility.
  • Additional stipends for Technology and Professional Funds.

  • Full benefits available for employees working a minimum of 630 hours during the school year.
