🏡 Location & Service Areas

• Westchester, NY (Assignments are in patients' homes within these service areas)
• Other service areas include:
• Bronx, NY
• Brooklyn, NY
• Queens, NY

💼 What You'll Do as an HHA/PCA

• Assist with daily personal care: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Meal preparation: normal and therapeutic diets, monitoring intake, supporting hydration
• Support mobility: safe positioning, prescribed exercises, and assistance with movement
• Patient transfers: safely moving patients between bed, chair, and wheelchair (with or without assistive devices)
• Provide companionship: emotional support and orientation for confused patients
• Vital signs: taking and recording temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and intake/output
• Light housekeeping: making beds, tidying rooms, laundry, and cleaning kitchens and baths
• Assist with medications: supporting self-administration as directed by medical staff
• Report changes: promptly communicate any condition changes to the supervising nurse
• Operate equipment safely: walker, wheelchair, commode, hospital bed, or Hoyer lift

🎯 What We're Looking For

• Successful completion of a New York State DOH-approved HHA or PCA training program
• Valid HHA or PCA Certificate (NY State)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English (for documentation and patient safety)
• Preferred Languages: Bengali, Arabic, Albanian, Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin), Creole, Farsi, Filipino, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Vietnamese
• Compassion, patience, and reliability
• Physical ability to assist patients (up to 50 lbs occasionally; frequent standing and walking required)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare staff

🛑 What HHAs & PCAs Do Not Do

• No catheter irrigation, sterile dressing, enemas, gastric lavage, or heat applications
• Tasks outside of the NYS DOH Scope of Practice
