Overview
Join our team as a part-time, hourly Hebrew Teacher dedicated to fostering early Hebrew literacy, vocabulary, prayer, and cultural traditions with students in grades K–3. An ideal role for educators who love working with children and want to make a meaningful impact through interactive and developmentally appropriate instruction. 😊
Responsibilities
- Teach Hebrew language skills to students in grades K–3.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that enhance Hebrew vocabulary, literacy, and confidence.
- Introduce students to Jewish prayers, songs, holidays, and traditions in a positive manner.
- Create a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differential instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support student success and school-wide goals.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom setting.
Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience required, preferably with early elementary students.
- Background in Hebrew language instruction, Jewish education, or early childhood/elementary education is highly preferred.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to connect positively and encourage young children.
- Commitment to fostering a welcome, inclusive, and joyful learning environment.
- Must pass a full background check in accordance with Maine DHHS requirements.
Compensation & Details
- Hourly wage: $23.34 – $28.11, commensurate with experience
- Work Location: In person
