Hillel Academy of Greater Dayton, a vibrant PreK–8 Jewish day school with over 65 years of dedicated, values-driven education, is looking for a passionate Hebrew educator to inspire our students and bring the Hebrew language to life.
🌟 The Opportunity
We seek a dynamic, skilled Hebrew teacher to deliver modern, conversational Hebrew to students across our PreK–8 program. This part-time position (15–20 hours/week) offers a salary range of $25,000–$30,000, commensurate with experience and hours. You will foster a love for Hebrew as a living language — a vibrant connection to Jewish peoplehood, Israel, and community.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Teach modern spoken Hebrew to students from PreK through 8th grade
- Design and deliver engaging, communicative language lessons
- Integrate Hebrew into daily school activities and Jewish holiday celebrations
- Collaborate with Judaic and general studies teachers
- Track student progress and communicate with families as needed
🧑🏫 Who We're Looking For
- Native or near-native proficiency in Modern Hebrew (required)
- Formal Hebrew teaching credential, degree in Hebrew education, or equivalent Judaic background (preferred)
- Experience teaching Hebrew in a day school, synagogue, or immersive environment
- A communicative, immersive teaching approach — making Hebrew come alive
- Warm, patient classroom presence and a passion for working with young learners
- Familiarity with Jewish holidays, lifecycle, and culture
