Position Overview 🎓
We are hiring a part-time or full-time Hebrew Teacher for the upcoming school year, with a salary range of $70,000–$80,000 (pro-rated based on experience). The role involves integrating Hebrew into daily school life through storytelling, songs, cultural celebrations, and immersive instruction that emphasizes listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Key Responsibilities 📋
- Create a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Teach Hebrew classes and support emergent language learners
- Maintain accurate documentation of curriculum and student progress
- Integrate Hebrew language experiences into school-wide programs, holidays, and activities
- Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Build strong partnerships with parents to support student development
- Collaborate with grade-level teams on community projects and student support initiatives
- Attend weekly division and department meetings, as well as professional development sessions
Qualifications & Skills 🎯
- Native or fluent Hebrew speaker with strong pedagogical skills; immersion experience preferred
- Master’s degree in education or related field (preferred)
- Specialized training in second language acquisition and experience with the Proficiency Approach and ACTFL guidelines
- Technologically adept in integrating tools to enhance language learning
- Commitment to supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally
- Cultural competency with a dedication to diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusive Jewish community values
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
