The Rashi School, Boston’s Reform Jewish Independent School serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade, is seeking a passionate Hebrew Teacher to nurture young learners in a vibrant and inclusive environment.

Our Educational Approach 🎓
Lower School: Utilizes a collaborative teaching model to promote academic, social, and emotional growth by nurturing risk-taking, flexibility, empathy, and resilience—modeling these traits for students.
Middle School: Focuses on empowering students through positive relationships, rich content, and student-centered strategies aligned with our core values: respect, learning, community, spirit, and justice.
Position Responsibilities 📝
- Teach 4 sections of Hebrew across Grades K-8 (specific levels to be determined based on experience).
- Support the development of modern Hebrew reading and writing skills, fostering meaningful connections to Jewish and Israeli culture.
- Create engaging tasks and activities to enhance Hebrew language acquisition and cultural literacy.
- Prepare instructional materials and arrange classroom environments for optimal learning.
- Employ various instructional formats including whole group, small group, partner, and independent work.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse student needs and interests.
- Establish routines that promote effective learning and positive behavior.
- Monitor and support student performance, social development, and well-being.
- Set clear objectives for lessons and communicate expectations, emphasizing Hebrew language skills and Jewish identity.
- Provide constructive feedback on student work.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and celebrations of Jewish holidays.
- Assess student progress through assignments and evaluations.
- Participate in weekly planning and departmental meetings.
- Share responsibilities such as recess and lunch supervision.
- Lead or support Tefillah (prayer) and Kabbalat Shabbat services.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with families.
- Prepare and deliver report cards twice yearly.
- Attend faculty meetings and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Head of School.

Qualifications & Requirements 📚
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Fluency in Modern Hebrew
- Proficiency Approach experience preferred
Physical & Technical Requirements 💻
- Ability to sit, stand, type, twist, and bend
- Capacity to use telephones and computers effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
