The Job:
As a Beged Kefet Teacher, you will:
- Teach Hebrew to students from grades K-12 🧑🎓
- Develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
- Implement a Hebrew curriculum centered on Israeli culture, songs, literature, art, and Judaic holidays and traditions 🖼️🎶

About the Israeli Cultural Connection (ICC@JCC):
The ICC@JCC serves the 30,000 Israelis in Silicon Valley, fostering connections through Israeli arts, music, and cultural events. This department offers the Israeli and American Jewish communities opportunities to deepen their ties to Israel and each other. Within ICC, Beged Kefet is a Hebrew Language School teaching the fundamentals of Modern Hebrew to school-aged children.
The Core Duties ✅
- Serve as a role model by fostering students’ curiosity, learning, and development
- Create and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with program goals
- Assign, collect, and evaluate homework to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records of grades and upload updates to the school website for parent access
- Collaborate with parents to address learning challenges and find solutions
- Handle parent questions and concerns promptly, notifying the Headmaster when necessary
The Essentials ✅
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in teaching, languages, or liberal arts
- 1-2 years of teaching experience in a K-12 setting
- NETA Hebrew Language Teaching Certification (required)
- Fluent in Hebrew (Speaking, Reading, and Writing)
- Deep understanding of Israeli culture
- Clear background check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check, Medical/TB exam)
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR certifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the community
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude suited for a non-profit environment
