Position: Mandarin Head Teacher
Location: NY, 2026-27 School Year
Must have: Excellent command of Mandarin language of instruction, ability to model, instruct, and uphold high academic standards, and adherence to the language policy.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to student needs, utilizing diverse instructional strategies and social-emotional learning techniques.
- Collaboration: Work daily with colleagues to plan units and discuss student development.
- Student Engagement: Guide learning toward curriculum goals, create an appropriate learning environment, and encourage positive classroom behavior.
- Community & Family: Build a classroom community by partnering with families to support academic and personal growth.
- Assessment & Safety: Evaluate student progress, including linguistic benchmarks, and ensure the safety of all students and school property.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Assist administration in implementing school policies and regulations.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and participate in staff meetings and committees.
Qualifications
- Language: Native Mandarin speaker (Required)
- Experience: Minimum of three years teaching elementary/middle school (preferred)
- Education: Degree in early childhood or elementary education
- Skills: Excellent communication, organization, classroom management, and technology proficiency
