About the Role

The Interpreter provides interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals, their families, clients, and staff across diverse settings such as medical, legal, educational, and social services. You will advocate for LEP individuals' access to essential services, facilitate intercultural communication, and assist professionals in delivering culturally sensitive care and support. Position Details

• Type: On-site (in person)
• Location: Martinsburg, WV
• Schedule: Typically during regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM), with some Saturdays. Appointments are scheduled based on client needs.
• Rate: Dependent on experience and certifications 💰

Qualifications & Experience

• Work Experience: 1+ years of interpreting experience or a successful internship. Experience in medical, customer service, legal, or educational settings is a plus.
• Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Additional certifications like CMI, CHI, CCHI, or 40-hour interpreting courses are advantageous.
• Language Fluency: Proficiency in both spoken and written English and the language of interpretation is essential. Native-level fluency in the interpretation language is preferred. Must possess professional-level interpreting skills and some translation ability.
