Your Role as a GSR Captain
You will act as the front-line supervisor, managing a team of Guest Service Representatives during all Padres home games and special non-baseball events. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering exceptional guest experiences! 🎯
Key Responsibilities 📝
- Exemplify the Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by welcoming guests and striving to surpass their expectations
- Supervise GSRs: oversee team activities during events, ensuring smooth operations
- Pre-Event Briefings: conduct updates on event details, best practices, and expectations
- Collaboration: work with management, other departments, and partners to create a positive environment
- Team Culture: foster open communication and an inspiring team atmosphere
- Feedback & Conflict Resolution: listen to team input and address issues promptly
- Training & Development: identify areas for skill improvement and organize training sessions
- Communication Access: ensure team uses proper channels for updates and incident reporting
- Performance Monitoring: evaluate team members, coach, and complete evaluations
- Guest Satisfaction: exceed expectations and resolve issues efficiently during events
Required Knowledge & Skills 🧠
- Punctuality, reliability, and commitment to schedule and responsibilities
- Leadership experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, and time management skills
- High integrity, discretion, and accountability
- Ability to collaborate respectably and contribute to a positive venue experience
- Personable, enthusiastic, positive attitude, and motivational skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (not required)
Qualifications & Physical Requirements ✅
- Minimum age of 18 years at the start of employment
- Ability to travel across the ballpark and work in various weather conditions, including rain and sun
- Lift and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Availability to work at least 75% of scheduled events, including all weekend games (Friday–Sunday), with up to 6 exceptions
- Flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Successful completion of all pre-employment background checks and requirements
Compensation & Benefits 💼
This is a union position, with pay rates and benefits governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
Hourly Rate: $22.88 per hour
