Hyundai Motor Group is seeking a bilingual (Korean/English) Global Affairs Associate to join our government affairs team in Washington, D.C. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about public policy, international relations, U.S.-Korea relations, and global business.

The Global Affairs Associate will support our team on a wide range of legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical issues—collaborating closely with our Seoul headquarters and engaging with U.S. policymakers, associations, and think tanks. This position sits at the crossroads of policy, technology, and global strategy, playing a vital role in Hyundai’s engagement both within the U.S. and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze U.S. federal legislation, regulations, and geopolitical developments
  • Draft clear and concise documents, memos, briefing materials, letters, and reports in both Korean and English for senior leadership
  • Support government outreach and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross-border communications and documentation with headquarters in Seoul
  • Monitor and report on global and regional geopolitical trends that could impact our business

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in government, policy, or international affairs (e.g., internship at U.S. Congress, work at an association or think tank)
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
  • Professional fluency in both Korean and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong research, writing, and documentation skills
  • Interest in U.S.-Korea relations and global policy issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the U.S. legislative and regulatory landscape
  • Experience working across time zones or with international headquarters
  • Familiarity with the automotive or mobility industry
