About the Role

Currently, we have an immediate vacancy for a Pennsylvania-certified German and Mandarin Chinese Teacher (combined). The ideal candidate will be passionate about student success and eager to join our talented team at an Apple Distinguished School.

Work Environment

This position offers flexibility, with the option for remote work from home or reporting to one of our campus locations as needed.

• Main Campus: West Chester, PA
  Nestled in the Brandywine Valley, just 30 minutes from Wilmington and 45 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. West Chester is renowned for its small-town charm blended with cosmopolitan flair.
• Secondary Campus: Murrysville, PA

Position Summary 📝

All teachers will uphold the school's mission and vision by planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with state standards in an online environment. Flexibility is key, as the role may involve asynchronous teaching, occasional travel, and overnight stays.

Primary Responsibilities 🎯

• Design and implement engaging lessons via the online learning platform, differentiating instruction and accommodating IEP needs.
• Maintain high-quality course standards, adjusting lessons and assessments as needed.
• Integrate state standards into instructional resources and assessments.
• Schedule and conduct virtual office hours.
• Monitor student attendance and participation.
• Analyze assessment data (PVAAS, Keystone, PSSA, etc.) to inform instruction.
• Provide constructive feedback to support student mastery.
• Assist in state-mandated testing, community outreach, and school events, including overnight trips.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet educational goals and refine instructional strategies.
• Maintain accurate records in the SIS system.
• Follow all teacher expectations and guidelines.
• Teach German II, Mandarin Chinese II, and other courses as assigned, without requiring additional certification.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications & Requirements 📚

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
• Certifications: PA Instructional I or II Certification for German K-12 and Mandarin K-12. Valid acts 34, 151, 114, 168 clearances.

Work Schedule & Benefits

• Schedule: Full-Time, 10 months, 193 days
  Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
• Benefit Eligible: Yes
