  • Position Title: General Assembly Vehicle Engineering Associate/Specialist

📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert during vehicle launches, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases.
  • Prepare specification packages after reviewing requirements such as quality, safety, UPH, layout, and ergonomics.
  • Communicate effectively with the Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and other R&D teams across Korea/USA for successful vehicle launches.
  • Host video conferences for vehicle design improvement and status follow-up meetings.
  • Develop assembly process sheets considering methods and line conditions, including detailed pictures and explanatory text.
  • Explain work content through visual aids according to work order, content, and status.
  • Check vehicle build quality and workability, ensuring assembly accuracy.
  • Review vehicle drawings—including hardware torque, vehicle dimensions—and design work processes as per assembly sequence.
  • Determine man-hours using MODAPTS and optimize resource allocation.
  • Analyze and continuously improve performance metrics across safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors.
  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and problem-solving initiatives as directed by senior management.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members and leaders.
  • Support daily production issues proactively.
  • Stay abreast of technical developments within the specialty area and propose innovative projects.
  • Prepare presentations and reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes for management review.
  • Manage labor allocation efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Perform and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities within designated deadlines.

🔧 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • No restrictions for overseas travel or stays.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Business professional proficiency in English and Korean.
  • Preferred skills include experience with CATIA, CAD, or similar programs.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

🗣️ Language Proficiency

💪 Physical Demands

This role involves both office work and production environment tasks. Key activities include:

  • In Office:
    • Sitting at a desk for extended periods, with occasional lifting of supplies (up to 15 lbs).
    • Frequent typing and handling documents.
    • Moving and sitting/standing as needed.
  • In Production Area (if applicable):
    • Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting materials (up to 30 lbs).
    • Handling power tools and machinery with manual dexterity.
    • Working in noisy, hot environments with PPE.
    • Climbing ladders or stairs and operating equipment safely.
    • Identifying safety hazards via visual and auditory cues.
