The Opportunity 🚀

Are you a passionate gamer with an interest in what goes on behind the scenes? Do you speak fluent Japanese and have excellent English skills? We currently offer a fully remote opportunity to work as a Gaming Moderator for a major gaming brand. If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk!

What You'll Do 🎮

  • Protect our client’s brand reputation by providing a positive gaming experience for users.
  • Review graphic images, sound files, and written content that may violate community guidelines.
  • Moderate content in accordance with The Social Element’s and client-specific guidelines.
  • Carry out moderation tasks and training as scheduled.
  • Escalate user-generated content that violates safety protocols (e.g., child safety concerns, threats).
  • Support and mentor fellow moderators, offering assistance as needed.
  • Complete shift reports using provided templates according to project requirements.
  • Notify Project Managers of technical or content-related issues and provide client feedback.

Working Hours 🕒

Flexibility is key! The ideal candidate will be available during weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with a typical workload of approximately 15-20 hours per week. The schedule should generally include:

  • Availability across both weekend days
  • Preferred hours: 11am to 7pm EST

Please note: hours may fluctuate based on project needs.

Requirements ✅

  • Fluent Japanese and English: Excellent reading skills in both languages are essential.
  • Background Experience: Engagement, social customer care, localisation, translation, copywriting, moderation, or community management experience (brand or digital agency).
  • Social Media Knowledge: Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, or YouTube.
  • Digital Savvy: Up-to-date with current social media trends and technologies.
  • Gaming Enthusiast: Self-motivated with a passion for gaming and comfortable working remotely. Experience in gaming moderation is a bonus!

IT Policy & Requirements 🖥️

As part of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, your computer must meet the following specifications:

  • Windows 10 64-bit or higher / MacOS X 13 (Ventura) or higher
  • i5 8th generation or faster 64-bit processor
  • Minimum 8GB RAM (16GB recommended)
  • Internet speed: 20 Mbps download / 1 Mbps upload (50/5 Mbps recommended)
  • 40 GB available HDD (SSD preferred)
  • Webcam and headset
  • Android or iOS device for 2FA authentication
  • Note: Chromebook, Linux, or Cloud VMs are unsupported unless specifications are shared and approved.
