What You Will Do 🩺

• Provide excellent customer service that embodies respect, integrity, collaboration, and service.
• Manage patient appointments by scheduling and coordinating with providers’ schedules.
• Handle communication by checking voicemail, answering calls, resolving questions, and transferring to appropriate staff.
• Perform patient check-in and registration efficiently, including scanning patient intake packets, insurance cards, and IDs into EPIC.
• Enter and update patient data accurately within the EPIC system.
• Prepare patient charts ensuring all registration, insurance, demographics, and forms are current.
• Verify patient eligibility through state websites, private insurances, or Medicare when needed.
• Complete workflow tasks diligently, including managing personal in-boxes.
• Collect payments at registration and after visits, reconciling cash transactions.
• Support eligibility programs such as Every Woman Counts, Sliding Fee Discount, Vaccines for Children, and others, to ensure patient enrollment and support.

Eligibility: Benefits are available to employees working 30+ hours/week, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Compensation 💰

Range: $25.00 - $29.50 per hour

This reflects Elica’s good-faith estimate in compliance with California pay transparency laws. Final pay will be based on experience, education, certifications, and skills.

Preferred Language Skills 🌎

Bi- or multilingual skills in English plus Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, Hmong, or Spanish are highly preferred to serve our diverse patient community, where over 50% speak a language other than English.

Additional Requirements ✅

• Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
• Immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus), TB clearance, and COVID-19 vaccination proof before start date.
• Screening: Criminal background and drug testing are required.

Physical & Work Environment 🏥

This role involves typical clinic activities: sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Vision, hearing, and speaking abilities are essential for communication and task performance. The work setting is usually quiet, but accommodations are available for disabilities.
