Elaine Ellis Center of Health is looking for a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Front Desk Associate to join our teams in Washington, DC, and College Park, MD. If you are bilingual in Spanish and English, reliable, and have at least 3 years of medical front desk experience, we want to hear from you! 🌟

Position Overview

This key role involves managing patient scheduling, registration, community outreach, and ensuring smooth front desk operations. The position may require extended work hours, and the ideal candidate will be punctual, dependable, and skilled at handling multiple phone lines and electronic medical records (EMR). 📞💻

📝 Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned activities and functions of the Front Desk.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
• Greet patients and visitors, identify the purpose of their visit, and direct them appropriately.
• Respond professionally to incoming telephone calls and requests.
• Gather patient information and review registration forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Check insurance systems to verify coverage and co-payments.
• Handle inquiries from providers, insurance companies, and pharmacies.
• Notify patients of financial obligations, such as co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Assemble patient charts, enter data, and scan documents into the EMR system.
• Retrieve and print referrals and appointment details for patients.
• Participate in team training for patient-centered care coordination.
• Manage customer inquiries and complaints, document grievances, and refer issues as needed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks: sorting mail, data entry, maintaining logs, copying, filing, and faxing.
• Assist in maintaining office supplies and inventory.
• Represent the Center at professional meetings and specialized training sessions related to front desk functions.
• Engage in outreach and offsite programs, as assigned.
• Support additional duties and special projects as required.
