• Terms of Employment: 10 Months
• FLSA Status: Exempt

🎯 Position Summary

The teacher will incorporate appropriate educational curricula based on the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements and course syllabi into weekly instruction. You will create and maintain an engaging educational atmosphere that promotes effective student learning. This role reports directly to the Manager of Teacher Effectiveness. Approved candidates will be placed into an active teacher pool.

🔑 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer district curriculum aligned with NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements.
• Conduct classes in the language of instruction.
• Create and sustain a positive, academically focused learning environment.
• Develop and implement components of effective lessons.
• Analyze student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Build a classroom climate that encourages positive learning conditions.
• Ensure all students have opportunities to learn in a supportive setting.
• Participate in additional job-related duties as assigned.

🎓 Position Expectations

• Demonstrate expertise and ability to instruct in a secondary virtual classroom.
• Collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and management.
• Guide the learning process to meet curriculum goals.
• Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Use diverse instructional techniques aligned with objectives.
• Actively participate with faculty members.
• Maintain accurate, complete records per company policy.
• Continuously improve professional skills.
• Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
• Prove proficiency in the foreign language at the Advanced-Low level based on ACTFL standards.

🎓 Position Requirements

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid teaching license issued by a state department of education.
• Foreign language endorsement matching the assignment.

💻 Technology Requirements

• Internet: Consumer-grade WiFi or wired internet connection.
• Internet Speeds: 15 MBPS download, 5 MBPS upload (check via speedtest.net).
• Computer: Processor: Single Core 1.5GHz or higher; RAM: 4GB+; OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 or Mac 2014 or newer; No Chromebooks.
• Monitors: Laptop Screen + External Monitor OR Desktop Monitor + External Monitor.
• Camera: Webcam or HD webcam.
• Audio: Built-in, USB, or Bluetooth microphone and either headphones or speakers.
