Salary
$54,180 - $66,530 (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
The Classroom Teacher possesses the experience, personality, energy, and maturity needed to meet the daily demands of students, curriculum, department, school, and district. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing educational programs tailored for individual and group student needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the subject area, curriculum, and NYS Learning Standards.
- Prepare appropriately using effective instructional practices, materials, and activities.
- Complete detailed lesson plans prior to instruction.
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote active student involvement and meaningful teacher-student interaction.
- Utilize available resources and data to inform instructional decisions.
- Exhibit classroom management skills that support diverse learning needs and foster a positive environment.
- Apply understanding of student development and diversity, using developmentally appropriate instructional strategies.
- Implement assessment techniques aligned with NYS Learning Standards to measure student progress.
- Continuously review and adjust practices based on assessment results.
- Supervise students both inside and outside the classroom in accordance with district expectations.
- Report to school punctually and maintain confidentiality.
- Support the CCSD Code of Conduct actively.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in teaching and related areas.
- Attend required meetings and adhere to district policies and procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, personnel, and the community.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral English with all stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise classroom activities and students.
