About Tessa International School

Tessa International School is a lively, thriving educational community located just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We serve students from early childhood up to the 3rd grade, with plans to extend to the 5th grade in the near future. Our preschool is accredited by the French Ministry of National Education and is pursuing accreditation for elementary levels. Language and Cultural Enrichment

Families at Tessa choose among three languages: French, Spanish, or Mandarin. Our preschool offers an immersion program in the target language, with some classes led by English-speaking specialists. Our summer camp, "Fun, Friends, and Discoveries", provides children with immersive language experiences through multi-sensory, fun, and interactive activities, including outdoor play, creative indoor activities, singing, games, music, and movement. 🎶🎨🌳

Position Overview: Summer Camp French Lead Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging French Lead Teacher to join Team Tessa for our summer camp! If you love teaching children aged 2 to 10 in a vibrant, immersive environment, this is the perfect opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Teach French to children ages 2-10 in a full immersion setting
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons five days a week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Manage children's behavior and create a nurturing, respectful, and caring environment
• Plan creative and effective lessons tailored to various age groups
• Promote cultural awareness through language activities

Camp Details

• Duration: 9 weeks (June 29th – August 28th)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Candidate Requirements

• Experience teaching children aged 2-10 years
• Native French speaker
• Ability to teach fully immersive French classes to both Tessa students and external community children
• Strong communication and lesson planning skills
• Good classroom management and behavior management skills
• Ability to foster a respectful and supportive learning environment
• Authorization to work in the United States
