We are actively seeking qualified French Medical Interpreters and Translators to support healthcare clients by delivering professional interpretation services. 🌐💬

Position Overview

As a French Medical Interpreter or Translator, you will facilitate accurate communication between medical staff and patients within healthcare settings, ensuring clear understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and related discussions. All services will be provided in person, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, accuracy, and patient confidentiality.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, complete, and impartial in-person interpretation between healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, technicians, administrative staff) and patients receiving care.
• Facilitate communication of medical information including diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and healthcare discussions.
• Serve as a communication liaison to ensure mutual understanding while maintaining professionalism and neutrality.
• Adhere to professional interpreter codes of ethics, including confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality.
• Accurately report hours worked and complete any required documentation in accordance with contract requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and French.
• Valid REAL ID to access client site.
• Possibility of obtaining a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience providing medical interpretation strongly preferred.
• Experience interpreting in healthcare, clinical, or hospital settings is a plus.
• Ability to interpret complex and sensitive medical information accurately.
• Knowledge of interpreter ethics, including confidentiality and impartiality.
• Ability to work effectively in professional healthcare environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to provide in-person services as required.
• Must pass background, base-access, or credentialing checks, if applicable.
• This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Work Environment & Details

Location

This position will be performed at various client sites located on the island of Oahu.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent standing and speaking during interpretation duties.

Position Type & Hours

This is a contracted position. Work requests are generally in one-hour increments, scheduled from 06:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday.

Travel

Work is conducted at different client sites across Oahu. No additional travel is required.
