Position Details

- Schedule: 1–4 hours per week, after school
- Program Length: approximately 10 weeks
- Start Date: Rolling openings based on school schedules
- Compensation: $50+ per instructional hour (flexible based on experience, program, and commute)
About the Role
Concorde Education is seeking an engaging French Instructor to lead after-school language enrichment programs for students (grade band varies by assignment). This role emphasizes building foundational French communication skills through interactive, student-centered teaching in a fun and structured environment. 😊
Program Focus
- Leading small to mid-sized groups
- Fostering speaking, listening, and cultural exploration
- Adapting pacing based on student needs and logistics
What You’ll Teach
Students will develop introductory French language skills and cultural awareness through hands-on, participation-driven lessons. Topics may include:
- Greetings, introductions, and everyday conversational phrases
- Numbers, dates, and time expressions
- High-frequency vocabulary (school, family, hobbies, food)
- Basic sentence structure and common verbs
- Listening and speaking activities such as games, role-play, and guided dialogue
- Introductory reading and writing (as appropriate)
- French and Francophone culture—traditions, geography, music, and cuisine
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, structured sessions aligned with program goals
- Prioritize student participation, especially speaking and listening
- Adapt instruction for various skill levels and group sizes
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and classroom-appropriate environment
- Track attendance and communicate with program staff as needed
- Deliver a culminating activity or project that showcases student learning
Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)
- Strong working proficiency in French
- Experience working with K–12 students (teaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)
- Strong classroom presence and ability to engage students
- Reliable, professional, and responsive
- Able to create fun, age-appropriate learning experiences
