Position: French Instructor - Adjunct 🎓

Department: Academics

Reports To: Humanities Department Chair

Position Summary

The French Instructor will plan, support, and deliver instruction for credit-based college courses in French. Responsibilities include participating in program assessments, college-wide initiatives, curriculum development, and student support activities.

Classes are scheduled on the Nunez Community College campus in Chalmette, LA, starting mid-January 2022 through May 2022 for the Spring 2022 semester. Successful candidates will be invited to return for subsequent semesters.

Duties And Responsibilities 📝

• Provide instruction in face-to-face and online classes, including curriculum preparation and delivery, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Support student learning and development through conferences, mentoring, and feedback, fostering a community of learning on campus.
• Participate in assessments at the program, departmental, and college levels for continuous improvement and special projects.

Education And Experience Requirements 🎓

• Master's Degree in French or a graduate degree with at least 18 graduate credits in French.
• Experience teaching French at the college level is encouraged but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications 🌟

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in a related field
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends if required
• Proficiency in operating computers and standard office equipment
• Experience with Canvas preferred
