About the Role

Located in Centreville, VA, this position requires an individual with a strong linguistic background, capable of handling complex tasks with cultural insight and precision. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory.

What You'll Do

• Translation: Accurately translate digital and hard copy materials between French/Hausa and English, capturing nuances, cultural references, and geopolitical details.
• Interpretation: Provide consecutive interpretation; may occasionally require simultaneous interpretation, maintaining high fidelity and fluency.
• Transcription: Listen and transcribe audio or internet-based content with accuracy, producing high-quality English reports and demonstrating dialectical understanding.
• Gisting and Summarization: Identify key facts and abstract concepts, extracting critical data efficiently using reference materials.

Security Clearance Requirements

Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph that is fully adjudicated before commencing work.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent military training with 4-8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 2-6 years experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Translation and/or interpretation degree highly preferred.
• Experience supporting HL T environments is a plus.
• Must pass a Leidos-administered language proficiency test at the Primary level or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic online research skills.
• All candidates must successfully pass language tests administered by Leidos or accepted vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
• Ability to brief and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is a strong asset.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of all sponsor-related training.
• Must pass medical/laboratory and physical screening.
• Successful weapons training completion.
• Willingness to travel OCONUS, supporting the contract 24/7 when on travel.
