This position requires a talented language professional capable of performing complex linguistic tasks with precision and cultural insight. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is a mandatory requirement.

What You’ll Do

• Translation:
  • Translate materials (digital and hard copy) from French/Hausa to English and vice versa with accuracy.
  • Capture subtle nuances, cultural references, and abstract concepts.
  • Effectively incorporate geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural references.
  • Use terminology consistent with subject matter norms in the target language.
• Interpretation:
  • Provide consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.
  • Maintain high fidelity and fluency, demonstrating understanding of regional dialects and cultural context.
• Transcription:
  • Listen to audio or review internet-based content and transcribe accurately and efficiently.
  • Produce high-quality English reports based on audio/visual materials.
  • Demonstrate understanding of dialectical variations.
• Gisting and Summarization:
  • Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts.
  • Prioritize and extract critical information from large datasets.
  • Utilize reference materials effectively to ensure quality output.

Security Clearance

Candidates must possess TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (fully adjudicated prior to starting work).

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent military training with 4-8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute formal education.
• Translation and/or interpretation degree highly preferred.
• Experience with Human Language Technology (HLT) is a plus.
• Successful completion of Leidos-administered language proficiency tests at the Primary level or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools.
• All candidates must pass language tests administered by Leidos or an accepted commercial vendor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement environments.
• Ability to brief and communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is a strong asset.

Additional Information

• Complete all sponsor-related training successfully.
• Pass medical and physical screening as required.
• Complete weapons training.
• This is a hybrid role requiring travel OCONUS; candidates must support the contract 24/7 during travel.
