Job Summary

The French Club Advisor is responsible for supervising and guiding students in French Club activities. The role involves promoting interest in the French language and culture, fostering global awareness, and offering enriching extracurricular opportunities aligned with our educational mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate regular French Club meetings and activities.
  • Encourage student engagement in French language and cultural experiences (e.g., food, music, art, holidays, current events).
  • Plan events such as field trips, guest speakers, international nights, and cultural celebrations.
  • Promote the club within the school to boost participation.
  • Supervise students during all club activities to ensure safety and inclusivity.
  • Maintain communication with students, parents, and administration regarding club schedules and activities.
  • Keep accurate attendance and records of meetings and events.
  • Oversee fundraising efforts in accordance with district policies.
  • Collaborate with the World Language Department and other cultural clubs as appropriate.
  • Submit necessary paperwork, including activity proposals, budgets, and post-event reports.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio teaching license.
  • Proficiency in French and knowledge of Francophone cultures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate positively to students and foster enthusiasm for language and culture.
  • Experience working with secondary students preferred.

Working Conditions

  • May involve after-school, evening, or weekend activities.
  • Must be able to supervise students both in the classroom and off-campus settings.
  • Position may include occasional travel for events and field trips.
