About the Role

As part of our dedicated team, you will provide expert linguistic support across translation, interpretation, transcription, and summarization tasks. Leidos will sponsor security clearances for eligible candidates, empowering you to work on vital projects with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Translation:
  • Translate digital and hard copy materials from French/Bambara into English and vice versa with accuracy
  • Capture subtle cultural references, nuances, and geopolitical contexts
  • Maintain consistency with terminology norms in the target language
• Interpretation:
  • Provide consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required
  • Demonstrate high fluency and understanding of regional dialects and cultural nuances
• Transcription:
  • Review audio or internet-based content and produce accurate transcripts
  • Create high-quality English reports based on multimedia materials
  • Apply nuanced understanding of dialectical variations
• Gisting & Summarization:
  • Identify and synthesize key facts and abstract concepts quickly and accurately
  • Extract critical information from extensive datasets
  • Utilize reference materials to ensure high-quality output

Security Clearance Details

• No clearance required to apply
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (must be fully adjudicated before work begins)
• Leidos will sponsor candidates after passing necessary language assessments

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree plus 4-8 years relevant experience OR Master's degree with 2-6 years relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for education)
• Translation and/or interpretation degree highly preferred
• HLT experience a plus
• Successful completion of a Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Primary level or higher
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online research skills
• Must pass all required language assessments administered by Leidos or an approved vendor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting deployed linguist roles in contingency operations
• Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement environments
• Effective communication and briefing skills for diverse stakeholders
• Multilingual abilities are a strong asset

Additional Requirements

• Completion of sponsor-related training and medical/physical screening as per program requirements
• Weapons training completion a must
• Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad, with 24/7 support when on assignment

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
