French & Spanish Teacher Responsibilities

• Teach both French and Spanish courses for students in grades 6-12.
• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to individual students’ needs and skill levels.
• Teach language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through diverse instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and Spanish, enhancing pronunciation and comprehension.
• Introduce students to French and Spanish culture, including festivals, traditional foods, attire, and social customs.
• Organize fun events where students can showcase their language skills.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovations in language education.
• Serve as an advisor to students, supporting their overall success.

French & Spanish Teacher Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, French, Linguistics, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in both Spanish and French.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential required.
• Strong interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school activities.

Additional Desired Qualities

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards is preferred.
