Medical Assistant - Float (Bilingual Spanish Required) 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Role Overview:

The Medical Assistant at Oak Street Health plays a key role in gathering all necessary medical information to support healthcare providers in making informed decisions. This position requires flexibility, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. Building meaningful relationships with patients and collaborating with care teams are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities 📝

  • Ensure smooth patient flow by rooming patients promptly, taking vital signs, conducting screenings, and medication reviews
  • Inventory supplies and maintain exam rooms
  • Respond to patient requests via telephone, including lab results and record sharing
  • Administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests (e.g., A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws) in accordance with state regulations
  • Import documents into EMR through scanning or PDF uploads
  • Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations
  • Process orders for durable medical equipment and request medical records from external providers
  • Perform routine quality control checks, including infection control, equipment checks, and medication inventory
  • Assist in maintaining the center’s lab and perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For 🔍

Required Qualifications ✅

  • State or national certification (as required) or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • CPR or BLS Certification
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Gmail, MS Word, Excel, or Google Docs/Sheets)
  • Ability to communicate in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications 🌟

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Proven mastery of workflow in previous MA roles
  • Interest in expanded responsibilities and clinical growth to positively impact patient lives

Additional Preferred Qualifications ⭐

  • Over 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full-time

Pay Range 💰

The typical pay range is $18.50 - $42.35 per hour. Actual offer depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. Eligible for bonuses, commissions, or incentives.
