About the Role

Currently boasting over 30,000 active flight attendants, United Airlines is the largest airline worldwide, expanding rapidly and offering unparalleled opportunities to see the world. No specialized schooling or college degree is necessary — you'll be fully trained by United to get started.

Training & Onboarding

  • Initial Training: 6.5 weeks in Houston, TX, where you'll learn safety and service standards.
  • Base Assignment: After training and orientation, you’ll be assigned to one of our hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other locations (relocation funds not provided).
  • Stipend & Accommodations: During training, receive $140/week, hotel accommodation, and meals.
  • Certification: Complete training successfully to become a full-time United employee.

In-Flight Crew Proficiencies

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 21+ years old at application time
  • High school diploma or GED; college preferred
  • 1+ year customer service experience (retail, hospitality, aviation, etc.)
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Ability to communicate clearly in emergencies
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards
  • Tattoos: permitted on arms, legs, wrists; not on head, neck, hands, or fingers
  • Valid passport with at least 12 months validity and two blank pages
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand, walk, kneel, and operate safety equipment
  • Successful passing of background checks, drug screens, and medical assessments
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Training & Medical Requirements

  • Complete evacuation drills, including water training
  • Successful background checks, drug testing (including pre-employment DOT screening)
  • Meet FAA vision and hearing standards
  • Pass physical reach tests for operational tasks
