Job Summary

The Field Safety Specialist roles are field-based positions focused on conducting in-person assessments regarding child and family safety and well-being. Responsibilities include observing various environments, engaging respectfully with individuals and families, identifying potential concerns, and documenting findings accurately and promptly. The role demands strong judgment, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work independently while handling sensitive information.

This position requires adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, and comfort working in dynamic field settings with frequent travel and flexible schedules.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• 📝 Conduct in-person visits to observe environments and assess safety and wellness.
• 🤝 Engage professionally and respectfully with individuals and families during onsite visits.
• 📋 Identify, document, and report potential safety or welfare concerns according to established procedures.
• 🏠 Verify household circumstances and care arrangements.
• ✍️ Prepare clear, accurate, and timely documentation following field activities.
• 🦺 Maintain situational awareness and follow safety guidelines during fieldwork and travel.
• 💬 Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• 🔒 Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
• ✈️ Travel regularly to assigned locations, including on short notice.
• ⏳ Adapt to varying schedules, environments, and field conditions.
• 🔧 Support operational needs by performing additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• 🇺🇸 US Citizenship is required.
• 🎓 Associate degree + 2+ years relevant experience or high school diploma + 4+ years relevant experience.
• 🧩 Minimum two (2) years of experience in social services, case management, law enforcement, or related fields.
• 🗣️ Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory.
• 💬 Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 🤝 Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• ✈️ Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the United States.
• 🛂 Possession or in the process of obtaining a valid U.S. passport book.
• 🚗 Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• 📱 Ability to meet travel and insurance requirements.
• 💻 Strong computer skills, including proficiency with basic office software and mobile technology.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a field-based position that involves regular domestic travel. Work occurs in varied environments, requiring adaptability and flexibility to effectively conduct assessments and support the mission.
